#Active180 Challenge (A mile in her Boots Linkup)

In her Boots

Okay, so here goes......I joined a linky two weeks ago about being active over at A mile in her Boots.  Let me just say, if you haven't checked out Melissa's blog, you're really missing out!  And my first week was a bomb!  I walked a little and then just gave up.  I am not sure if I still have winter blues lingering around, but I got my butt in gear last week and said, "DO IT!"

And last week Melissa posted a link up about being active for six days a week for 30 minutes.  I tried hard to keep it going, I really did, but......my muscles cried by day three.  Here is a break down of my week.

Day 1:  Fast-paced walked 20 minutes on my treadmill and walked till my thighs felt like they were going to break in half.
Day 2:  Fast-paced walked again 20 minutes, legs started hurting again when time was finished.
Day 3:  I was out of commission.  I was so sore.  I did do some gardening though, so that counts. Ha!
Day 4:  Walked for 30 minutes and my legs were a little sore, but not as bad.
Day 5:  Ran/walked for 30 minutes and didn't feel as sore.
Day 6:  Ran for a mile and a half then walked for 30 minutes.  Feeling good!
Then I took Sunday as a break day and cleaned my house.  Ha!  Might not be much of a break to some, but I get real satisfaction cleaning.

So I will start this challenge over again this week and start today to get back on track with my fitness routine.  I am going to keep the same process as last time and walk a few days then run/walk.  It's working for me and I have already lost three pounds with this challenge.  My goal is 30, so that only leaves 27 more to go!  I can do this!  Thanks Melissa for getting me motivated!

If you want to join this fun and motivating link challenge head over to Melissa's blog and link up!  The next check in is Monday, June 3, 2013.

Here's the break down:

Be active for 6 days a week for at least 30 minutes a day! Sound crazy? Well, I think when you spend 3 or so of those days walking for 30 minutes it doesn't. We all know life can get busy but anyone should be able to find time to be active for 30 minutes a day! You don't have to just walk, you can substitute walking for running, biking, yoga, cardio etc. Who is ready to get active and boost their metabolism!?

In her Boots

I feel more energy already and am looking forward to the 30 lbs. to come off in no time!  I can already see a change in my legs and they feel great!

  1. Hi Shelly!I am so glad you joined in!!! I loved reading your post! It looks like your week was similar to mine in that we both picked it up more towards the end! Great job! I totally think gardening counts? You can always think of gardening as squats, right?! Can't wait to see your next update!! Take care :))

  2. Totally squatting a lot with gardening, so I would count them too! Ha! This week has been going a lot better, I just hope I can keep up the momentum. Thanks for letting me be part of this, it is helping me stay motivated.

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read my post, looking forward to checking in on Monday!
